Andar Bahar (अंदर बहार) is an old traditional Indian card game that originated in Bangalore in South India, long before our grandfathers learned how to walk. It is probably one of the simplest card games out there. But the joy and excitement of winning is still the same as for any other card game. The game is sometimes also referred to as Katti, but most people tend to call it Andar Bahar.

Andar Bahar rules – how the game is played
The game is considered to be very easy to learn, and all you need in order to play the game is one single deck of cards. The game is a typical 50/50-chance card game, with relatively few outcomes and relatively few bets to make. In essence, the player has to decide whether to bet on the left side, which is called Andar (अंदर). Or if he would like to bet on the right side, which is called Bahar (बहार).
Andar Bahar is probably one of the simplest and most popular card games in all of India
The dealer starts by dealing one card face up in the middle of the table, the Joker card. The player now has to decide whether he believes a card of the same value will appear on the left side or on the right side of the middle card, i.e. Andar or Bahar अंदर बहार. The dealer then deals a second card face up, to the left of the first card, Andar. If that card has the same value as the middle card, the player will get a 0.9:1 payout. However, if the card is not of the same value, the dealer will deal a third card to the right of the middle card, Bahar. If that card is of the same value as the middle card, the player will get a 1:1 payout.
The dealer will continue to deal cards to the left and to the right of the middle card, Andar and Bahar, until the same value card appears. When it does, the player(s) that placed a bet on that particular side will win.
