Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is not too concerned about making it into the play-off. He said it will not be the “end of the world” even if CSK failed the qualifications. The skipper admits to wanting to just enjoy the Indian Premier League.
"If we make the playoffs, great. But even if we don't it's not the end of the world," MS Dhoni said after yesterday’s win against Delhi Capitals.
Chennai went against Delhi on Sunday and was able to bring home the victory by 91 runs. This win solidifies their chances as the fourth team in the play-off. They will only need to win three more games to qualify.
"I am not a big fan of maths. Even in school, I wasn't good at it. Thinking of the net run-rate doesn't help. You just want to enjoy the IPL. When two other teams are playing, you don't want to be under pressure and thinking. You just have to think about what to do in the next game," he said.
Even so, he still prefers if their latest winning performance could start earlier in the season.
"It would have been better if we would have had a win like this somewhere early. It was a perfect game."
Yesterday was CSK’s best performance since the beginning of the IPL 2022. Especially when they had a chain of losses at the beginning of the League. By now they have lost seven out of eleven games and were previously ranked 10th out of 10 teams. This victory has bumped up their rank to eight in IPL.
