Gaikwad-Conway duo
Fans were having high hopes for Dhoni’s return to the team to bring back the Super Kings. Former cricketer Graeme Smith even said that CSK players must step up for Dhoni in order for him to make a comeback. Eventually, they did.
The Gaikwad-Conway duo was the highlight of the match, where they made an impressive 182-run opening partnership. This record is the highest partnership in the 2022 IPL and sets a new bar for any CSK wicket throughout their tournament history.
Gaikwad got away from Umran Malik’s bowl, which has a speed of 154 km/h. He continued his attack and brought up his fifty with a boundary off Malik but missed. Gaikwad, on the other hand, fought back and hit a straight bat over mid-off for four runs. Gaikwad was close to getting his second IPL century but failed by a solitary run, slicing a slower, short ball off T. Natarajan.

In return, Hyderabad had a fast start thanks to Abhishek Sharma, who scored 39 runs off 24 balls. On the other hand, Kane Williamson made 47 runs and Nicholas Pooran hit 23 runs in the 20th over.
The team added 52 in five overs for the first wicket, but shortly after that, Mukesh Choudhary struck. Choudhary continued to pick up four wickets and secured the victory for the Super Kings by 13 runs.
SRH’s captain admitted that his side was struggling to chase down CSK's 202/2. Williamson thought that the team might be able to handle it, but CSK gave so much pressure on them with the total score. Williamson also noted that losing Washington Sundar was one of the reasons for their struggles.
Williamson responded to his team's loss by saying that the team had shown their fight during the match. "We came up against quality spinners. At the end of the day, we did show a lot of fight. We just need to stay connected," he said.
Despite losing the match, Hyderabad still made a good record with pacers Malik and Natarajan, who picked up 15 wickets this season. It was the most number by far because there was no other pacer who took more than that in this season.
During the IPL's history, CSK had 18 matches against SRH. The Super Kings won 13 matches, while Hyderabad won five games. In the 2022 IPL, the two teams met twice, where SRH won the first match by eight wickets and won the second match by 13 runs.
