Imran Tahir Shares Thoughts On Gujarat Titans Vs Punjab Kings

Both the Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans will meet in Match 48 at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Tuesday, May 3. Imran Tahir, former Purple Cap winner, presented a preview of the match.

Tahir emphasises PBKS' unreliability

With Shikhar Dhawan at the helm of the accumulator, PBKS is regarded as the most unreliable team in the IPL 2022 season. Jonny Bairstow also missed the first few games due to national duty, and his performance has been disappointing up to this point. Over the course of six games, the Englishman only managed to score 79 runs at an average of 13.17.

Bairstow, according to Tahir, should be the first round of the match in order to achieve powerplay and utilise Punjab's strength. Bairstow is capable of some incredible shots in the Mzansi Super League, and Tahir would like to see him start as an opener.

Mayank Agarwal, as captain, had to end the match well, and Tahir thought it would be impossible to make up for his poor effort. According to him, Agarwal is a reliable player, but many other players are continuously striving to outperform him.

Meanwhile, Agarwal hasn't expressed his desire to regain his form to the fullest extent possible. Tahir feels the captain would be able to regain his incredible form if he can regain his confidence and optimize his efforts.

No other batter was more consistent than Shikhar Dhawan, according to Tahir. As a result, Dhawan will play a key part in the fatal blow and provide good fortune to the Kings. Considering Dhawan leads the team in runs scored with 307 in 9 innings.

Meanwhile, Kagiso Rabada has established himself as a superb bowler and wicket-taker. Rabada, according to Tahir, is a good bowler, but he has yet to achieve the expected wicket target. Rabada has 13 wickets in eight matches, but PBKS wants him to go above and beyond what he has done thus far.

Tahir's appreciation for GT's consistency

Tahir praised the Titans for their consistency in playing IPL matches this season, despite the fact that few people had previously placed their hopes in the Titans. Unlike Punjab, Gujarat has been the most steady squad this season, losing only one match out of nine.

Hardik Pandya's side was able to keep the average score and push for a higher one. Tahir was blown away by his performance, something he had never seen before, and he was able to demonstrate his game's consistency.

Reaching the playoffs in his first year of involvement, he believes, was a huge accomplishment. GT has emerged as a team in every match they've played, according to Tahir. The Titans, in other words, have not assigned responsibility or victory to a single party, but rather carries it out as a group.

This is demonstrated by Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, and David Miller, who constitute a formidable Gujarat defense trio. Tewatia and Miller had already won three games, with the last game averaging 69 innings and 276 runs.

Rashid Khan's bowling performance was also discussed by Tahir. Khan, he claims, is a one-of-a-kind bowler with exceptional speed. Khan may jump through the air and shift the path of the ball, making it difficult for other batters to hit the ball.

Khan has nine wickets in as many IPL games so far this season. In addition, he was named 'Player of the Match' for his team's match against SunRisers Hyderabad.
