IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2022: Schedule, rosters, more

On Sunday, August 28, India and Pakistan will resume their rivalry after a nine-month hiatus in the 2022 Asia Cup. Both teams met in the T20 World Cup 2021 last year, with Pakistan winning by ten wickets while chasing a 151-run target.

The tournament will be divided into two groups. Group A will feature India, Pakistan, and a qualifying team, while Group B will feature Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The tournament will begin with a match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.

Two teams from Groups A and B will advance to the Super 4. Unless the other qualifying teams outperform everyone, the top two teams in the Super 4 will meet again on September 4.

In the Asia Cup, India and Pakistan have faced off 14 times, with India winning eight times, Pakistan winning five times, and one game ending in a tie.

India holds the record with seven Asia Cup victories. Sri Lanka won five games, while Pakistan won two.

Pakistan is currently third in the ICC T20I rankings, trailing only the top-ranked Team India.

The India-Pakistan match will take place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m. IST.

The Asia Cup, which was originally planned to take place in Sri Lanka, was rescheduled to the UAE due to logistical issues caused by the nation's financial and economic crisis.

The tournament will be played in the T20 format as a warm-up for the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia in October-November.
