Match highlights

India's Mohammed Siraj bowled in the opening over. He managed to remove Kyle Mayers and Shamarh Brooks in three deliveries. Both batters did not get to score runs.

The West Indies also got their young player, Shai Hope, removed by Sanju Samson despite Hope always showing a steady playing. Yuvendra Chahal was bowling at the time of dismissal. Chahal got returning figures of 4 for 17 to give India a chance of batting.

The match was stopped due to rain after 24 overs. At that point, India had reached 115/1. Before the stoppage, a partnership between Shubman Gill and Shikhar Dhawan earned India 50 runs. The host was not far from that score.

After the break, India quickly scored runs. They achieved 110 runs in the next 12 overs, with Gill and Dhawan contributing to most of them.

In this match, Gill gave India 98 runs, only two runs away from a century. Unfortunately, the match was stopped again due to rain when Gill was batting. After 36 overs, the score card had shown 2-0 for India.

Gill became the star of the series. He earned 64 runs in the first one, then 43 in the second. In total, he accumulated 205 runs in a series. He also recorded seven fours and two sixes in the finale.

Dhawan, who is India's top run-scorer in the ODI category for the last two years, also showed a significant contribution to his team in the series. During the first match, he gave his team 97 runs, and in the finale, he scored 58 off 74 balls. In the last ODI innings, Dhawan also recorded seven fours.

Once the match re-started again for the second time, India did not give the West Indies a chance to retaliate. Shreyas Iyer, who earned 44 runs off 34 balls in the finale, held off the opponent. The game ended with 225/3 for India and 137 for West Indies.

However, some players from the West Indies team also showed good performance in this final match. Leg-spinner Hayden Walsh earned two sixes on this occasion. Pacer Jayden Seals also showed highly precise bowling when it was his turn.

Before facing West Indies in the ODI, India met England in a three-match series of the same format. The team won over England 2-1. Meanwhile, West Indies went against Bangladesh, also in a three-match series. West Indies lost all matches in the series. Currently, India sits third in ICC’s ODI ranking, while West Indies is ninth.
