History
Sunrisers Hyderabad are two-time winners of the IPL, first in 2009 under the name of Deccan Chargers, and then in 2016 under the able leadership of current captain David Warner. Rajasthan Royals won the first ever IPL title back in 2008, but have consistently struggled ever since. These two teams have faced each other 11 times in the IPL, with SRH winning 6 of those, and RR winning only 5.
Team News
SRH lost both their opening 2 matches, and were rock bottom of the table before their clash with Delhi Capitals. However, they regrouped and beat the table toppers with an impressive bowling performance, led by Rashid Khan and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. They followed that up with another impressive victory of Chennai Super Kings, but faltered against Mumbai Indians. In their last match they scored 200+ against KXIP for a huge win, and are looking good going into this clash.
Rajasthan Royals started IPL 2020 with a bang, winning their first 2 matches in dramatic fashion, scoring over 400 runs in the process. Their top order has been fairly consistent while Jofra Archer has been absolutely brilliant with the bat as well as ball. The return of Ben Stokes will make them an even more formidable unit. However, they have lost their last 4 matches in a row, and are currently struggling at the 7th spot in the table.
Betting Preview, Picks And Prediction
To Win The Match
The Sunrisers are favourites to win this match at odds of 1.72 as per Bet 365. They won their previous match with a huge margin over KXIP, and their batting as well as bowling looks to be in great form, having won 3 of their last 4 matches. They are also the only team to beat table-toppers Delhi Capitals this season. RR to win has odds of 2.10, which is not surprising as they have lost their last 4 matches in a row, and are currently 7th in the league table.
Top Team Batsman
SRH captain David Warner is unsurprisingly the favourite to be their top batsman in this match with odds of 3.10. His opening partner Johnny Bairstow has odds of 3.40 after his brilliant innings of 97 in the previous match, while the dependable Kane Williamson has odds of 5.00. The consistent Manish Pandey has odds of 5.00, which is an attractive bet.
Jos Buttler is unsurprisingly the favourite to be their top batsman in this match with odds of 3.50. He was their top scorer as they succumbed to a disappointing defeat to MI. His opening partner Sanju Samson has odds of 4.33, while the dependable Steve Smith also has odds of 4.00.
Highest Opening Partnership
Both these teams are equally poised at 1.90 to have the highest opening partnership in this match, as both are considered to have in-form opening pairs. Warner and Bairstow have consistently given SRH some solid starts with impressive stroke play in the initial over, including in the previous match where Bairstow scored 97, while Smith and Buttler can easily destroy any bowling attack on their day.
Top Team Bowler
Rashid Khan is unsurprisingly SRH’s favourite to be the top team bowler at 2.60, followed by Natarajan at 4.50 and Khaleel at 5.00.
On the other hand, Jofra Archer is the favourite to be the top bowler from RR at 2.87, followed by all-rounder Tom Curran at 4.50 and Tye at 5.00.
Total Runs In The Match
Odds of there being more than 326.5 runs in this match are 1.72, as per Bet 365. This is a pretty attractive bet as SRH’s openers can explode on their day, while RR seem to have low confidence right now, but still have a formidable batting line-up with Smith, Buttler, Samson and even the potential return of Ben Stokes to the line-up.
Individual Player Betting
- David Warner to score more than 26.5 runs has odds of 1.83 , which is a tempting bet as he would like to continue his prolific form. Jos Buttler to score more than 24.5 runs has odds of 1.72, which is again very tempting as he is expected to return to his big-hitting ways.
- Both these teams are equally poised to hit the most sixes at odds of 2.05, which is not surprising considering the sheer number of big hitters in each squad. Warner, Bairstow, Buttler, Samson and even Archer can all clear the ropes.
- Rashid Khan to take 2 or more wickets has odds of 2.10, while Jofra Archer to take 2 or more wickets has odds of 2.00, which is almost a given with his form.
