The fourth match in the 2020 Indian Premier League is between the first ever IPL winners Rajasthan Royals and the 3 time winners Chennai Super Kings. Plenty of world-class players will be on display for both these teams, and though Chennai are the favourites, it can go either way.

History

These two teams contested the first ever IPL final, where Rajasthan Royals came out on top with an inspirational innings from Yusuf Pathan, and had also beaten CSK in all 3 matches that season. However, it has all gone downhill for them ever since, as they have beaten CSK only 4 more times after the first season, while CSK have beaten them 14 times.

Team News

Rajasthan Royals are heavily reliant on the England international squad, and hence may face availability issues for some players as they have just reached UAE from England. Jos Buttler is expected to miss this match, while Steve Smith and Jofra Archer should be fit to play. Ben Stokes however, is expected to miss the first couple of matches after taking an extended break.

Chennai Super Kings were recently in the news for all the wrong reasons, as a couple of their

players as well as a few members of their staff were found to be covid-positive, gravely

affecting their pre-season preparations. This led to several players joining the camp much

later and also led to some very high-profile players such as Suresh Raina and Harbhajan

Singh to withdraw from the tournament.

Chennai Super Kings are the favourites to win the match with odds of 1.72 as per Bet365. They are the joint 2^nd favourites to win the title this season, and have a very strong and experienced lineup which makes them a force to be reckoned with. RR to win has odds of 2.10, as per Bet 365, which is not surprising as they have often struggled against CSK in recent years and are one of the favourites to finish bottom of the table.  

Top Team Batsman

Steve Smith is the favourite to be RR’s top scorer in this match, as he is widely considered to be their most consistent batsman and has odds of 4.50. Sanju Samson and Robin Utthappa have odds of 5.00 each.

Faf Du Plessis is the favourite from CSK to be the top scorer, with odds of 4.00, the same as his fellow opener Shane Watson, who struggled against MI. The impressive Rayudu has odds of 4.50, and looks to be in great form.
