Piyush Chawla Shares His Thoughts On Kane Williamson's Shot

Former Kolkata Knight Riders player, Piyush Chawla, shared his thoughts on Kane Williamson batting for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Williamson was not performing really well at the start of the season.

At Brabourne Stadium, the Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad will face off in Match 50 of the 2022 Indian Premier League season. Piyush Chawla, a former IPL participant for the Kolkata Knight Riders team, had this to say about SRH's batting forward Kane Williamson.

Both teams have faced each other in a total of 20 games so far. SRH has won 11 of the 13 matches played. While DC has a 9-game winning streak. Both teams lost their previous encounter, to the Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings, respectively.

SRH has previously lost their first two IPL matches of this season. SRH is now in second place in the points standings, courtesy of its recent victories. In all seven IPL matches so far this season, SRH has won the toss.

So far, SRH has played nine matches winning five and losing four. With 324 runs in nine games, Abishek Sharma is the leading run-scorer. T Natarajan, on the other hand, took 17 wickets.

Rishabh Pant has played 9 games for the DC squad in the IPL this season. This team has won four games and lost five. With 264 runs in seven games, David Warner is the leading run-scorer. Prithvi Shaw came in second with 259 runs in nine games.

Kuldeep Yadav has 17 wickets in 9 games for the bowling unit, while Khaleel Ahmed has 11 wickets in 6 games.

According to Chawla, Williamson needs to work on his bat

Williamson was underperforming at the start of the season. With an average of 24.37, he only managed to score 195 runs in nine games. He only made it to rank 57 with an attack score of 99.48. With Sharma, he opened this season with 143 runs from 151 balls in seven innings, an average of 94.7.

He has not yet demonstrated his full potential because he spends too much time in the crease, according to Chawla, which he has never done before.

According to Chawla, Williamson's hitting is a focus for the squad and is becoming a major issue. When it comes to chasing a huge number of runs, Chawla believes SRH will struggle. Williamson must continue to work on his strokes in order to achieve this.

The team did not need to replace Williamson and meddle with the spots of every other batter who scored, according to Chawla. He thinks this is an excellent option because it just takes one game to reach the highest level of rhythm. Williamson, according to Chawla, may hit the maximum in this match.

During the 2018 season, the 31-year-old cricketer was given the Orange Cap. In the eight fifties, he was able to score 735 runs at an average of 52.5.

SRH has a bowling unit with good performance

As a former cricket spinner, Chawla gives his opinion on the scary SRH bowling unit. The unit consisted of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Umran Malik, Marko Jansen, and spinner Jagadeesha Suchith or Washington Sundar.

According to Chawla, SRH had a terrific bowling attack with an exact bowler tempo. He also mentioned Sundar's injury as well as Suchith's ineffectiveness as a spinner, both of which he believes would disadvantage SRH.
