History
Rajasthan Royals won the first ever IPL title in 2008, but have struggled ever since, while Delhi have never even reached the final, and are on an inspired quest for their first every title win. These two teams have played each other 21 times, with RR winning 11 of those, and DC winning the other 10. Earlier this season, DC managed to grab an impressive victory against a struggling RR side, and are looking good to continue their form for now.
Team News
The Delhi Capitals won their opening two matches to get off to the perfect start, and were top of the table before they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, they regained momentum and went on to win a hattrick of games. Their batting top order looks fairly consistent, with notable contributions from at least two of the top order batsmen in every game so far, followed by some big hitting by the likes of Stoinis and Hetmyer after them. The bowling looks very good, however, with very economical spells by the spinners and a brilliant pace partnership between Rabada and Nortje. DC lost their previous match to MI by a narrow margin and are currently 2nd with 5 wins in 7 matches. A couple of key injuries to Amit Mishra and Rishabh Pant is a very worrying sign, however.
Rajasthan Royals started IPL 2020 with a bang, winning their first 2 matches in dramatic fashion, scoring over 400 runs in the process. Their top order has been fairly consistent while Jofra Archer has been absolutely brilliant with the bat as well as ball. The return of Ben Stokes will make them an even more formidable unit. They had lost 4 matches in a row, but came back brilliantly against SRH to move up to 6th in the table.
Betting Preview, Picks And Prediction
To Win The Match
Delhi Capitals are the favourites to win the match with odds of 1.70 as per LeoVegas, which is not surprising considering they are one of the most impressive sides this season, while the Royals have struggled, especially with their bowing. RR are 2.15 to win this match, which has been boosted by the return of their maverick all-rounder Ben Stokes.
Top Team Batsman
Jos Buttler is still the favourite to be their top batsman in this match with odds of 3.75. He was their top scorer as they succumbed to a disappointing defeat to MI. His opening partner Sanju Samson has odds of 4.50, while the dependable Steve Smith also has odds of 4.50. The return of Ben Stokes has made him the second-favourite at 4.00, as per LeoVegas.
Shikhar Dhawan is, as usual, the favourite to be Delhi’s top batsman in this match with odds of 3.50. His opening partner Prithvi Shaw also has odds of 3.50 after his impressive innings in the second match, while captain Shreyas Iyer has odds of 3.75, after his blistering knock against KKR propelled them to 227.
Highest Opening Partnership
DC are favourites at 1.80 to have the highest opening partnership in this match, as their openers are more consistent than RR. The Royals have experimented with 4 different openers so far, with mixed results, while DC seem to have a more proper game plan.
Top Team Bowler
South African pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada is in brilliant form of late, and is DC’s favourite to be the top bowler, at 3.25. He is also the current purple cap holder. He is followed by compatriot Nortje at 4.00.
On the other hand, Jofra Archer is the favourite to be the top bowler from RR at 3.50, followed by all-rounder Tom Curran at 4.33 and Tye at 5.00.
Total Runs In The Match
Odds of there being more than 329.5 runs in this match are 1.67, as per LeoVegas. This seems highly achievable as both these teams have enough firepower to get some big scores, as only 165 per team is the required average score.
Individual Player Betting
- Prithvi Shaw to score more than 25.5 runs has odds of 1.87 as per LeoVegas , which is a tempting bet as he would like to give a quick start to his team. Buttler to score more than 24.5 runs has odds of 1.87 as well , which is also a tempting bet as he would like to establish himself as RR’s top batter. .
- Both these teams are equally poised at 2.10 to hit the most sixes in this match. This is because they both have a number of players who can clear the ropes. Buttler, Samson, Stokes, Tewatia and Archer from RR while both the openers and Stoinis from DC.
- Kagiso Rabada to take 2 or more wickets has odds of 2.00 which is a given with his form, while Archer to take 2 or more wickets has odds of 2.20, which is attractive as he can snap up powerplay wickets.
