History
These two teams are fierce IPL rivals ever since the first edition back in 2008. Two of India’s largest metropolitan cities, Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai have always competed for a lot of different things, but IPL tops the list. Their head to head record has been heavily dominated by Mumbai Indians, who have won 20 out of the 26 matches played, while KKR have only won 6. In the previous match between these two teams earlier this season, MI beat KKR by 49 runs to kick-start their season.
Team News
MI are currently sitting second in the league table, with 5 wins in 7 matches. After a couple of damaging defeats to arch-rivals CSK and RCB, MI recovered well to put up a mammoth score against Sunrisers Hyderabad, highlighting their deep batting line-up. Rohit Sharma and De Kock both have played some big innings each, but the most encouraging aspect is the form of their middle and lower batting order, with Pollard and the Pandya brothers helping them explode towards the end. They recorded an impressive win against the current table-toppers DC in their previous match.
KKR had a nightmare start to the tournament in contrast, being thrashed by Mumbai Indians in their opening game. However, they bounced back very well with impressive victories over Rajasthan Royals Sunrisers. Shubman Gill is back to top form now, but the most encouraging aspect of KKR currently is the brilliant form of their young Indian bowlers- Nagarkoti, Mavi and Varun, which makes them a very balanced side going ahead in the tournament. They won their next game against Chennai with a narrow margin after a spirited bowling performance. KKR then clinched a thriller against KXIP by just 2 runs, as captain Dinesh Karthik finally produced the goods to take his team home. However, in their previous match, KKR were hammered by 82 runs against RCB, and will be looking to bounce back.

Highest Opening Partnership
Mumbai Indians are favourites at 1.80 to have the highest opening partnership in this match. This is also because KKR’s owners, while in form individually, have failed to post some impressive partnerships up top.
Top Team Bowler
The most expensive purchase at this season’s auction, Pat Cummins is the favourite to be the top bowler from KKR at 4.00, followed by Shivam Mavi at 4.50 and Sunil Narine at 4.50.
Jasprit Bumrah is MI’s favourite to be the top bowler with odds of just 3.50, a testament to his wicket taking ability in the death overs. Followed by Trent Boult at 4.00.
Total Runs In The Match
Odds of there being more than 333.5 runs in this match are 1.76, as per LeoVegas. This seems highly achievable as both these teams have deep batting lineups to get some big scores, as only 167 is required from both teams on average.
Individual Player Betting
- Rohit Sharma to score more than 25.5 runs has odds of 1.87 as per LeoVegas , which is a tempting bet as he would like to give a quick start to his team as always and is in decent form. Shubman Gill to score more than 23.5 runs also has odds of 1.87, which is also a tempting bet as he would like to continue his current form.
- Mumbai to hit the most sixes has odds of 2.00, which is understandable as they have several players who can clear the ropes. The Pandya brothers, Rohit Sharma, Pollard and De Kock all are known for their big hits. KKR to hit the most sixes has odds of 2.15.
- Bumrah to take 2 or more wickets has odds of 2.10 which is a given with his form, while Cummins to take 2 or more wickets has odds of 2.30, which is attractive as he can snap up death-over wickets.
